On a river hike, you’ll discover the Ybbs from a very special perspective. Whether you’re a beginner or an adventurer, under the professional guidance of experienced white-water instructors, you’ll learn how to handle the boat and paddle safely and feel the power of the water up close. All the necessary equipment – boat, paddle, life jacket and helmet – is, of course, provided.

River walking – experiencing nature at first hand

River walking is a little adventure for anyone who wants to experience nature up close. 

It involves walking right alongside or even in the water as you follow the river, over gravel banks, through gentle rapids and past picturesque riverside scenery. Those out on a river walk discover flora and fauna at close quarters and can fully appreciate the special tranquillity and freshness of the water. An experience for families, friends or anyone who enjoys exercise and nature.

Typical features of river walking:

  • Walking through the water: sometimes up to your knees or hips in the water.
  • Close to nature: Experience the flora and fauna along the river up close.
  • Adventurous: The river may feature currents, small waterfalls or obstacles.
  • Equipment: Waterproof shoes or sandals, possibly walking poles, waterproof clothing.
