Nestled between the mountains of Gamsstein (1,774 m), Voralpe (1,770 m) and Königsberg (1,452 m), the Lower Austria Eisenwurzen Nature Park lies entirely within the municipality of Hollenstein an der Ybbs. Spanning around 5,000 hectares, the region offers a diverse range of natural and cultural experiences: both those seeking peace and quiet and active holidaymakers will find their ideal adventure here – from gentle hikes and mountain bike tours to exciting nature walks for the whole family.
The nature park operates according to a four-pillar philosophy: conservation, recreation, education and regional development. Our aim is to preserve nature and biodiversity, impart knowledge about the environment and, at the same time, strengthen the region in a sustainable manner. We promote traditional crafts and old customs, and implement projects in an ecological and sustainable way.
