Nature education programmes

New programme for 2026

Our dedicated nature guides are keen to help you get a little closer to the fascinating world of the nature park.

With exciting guided tours, engaging workshops and child-friendly programmes, they invite children, families and anyone interested to discover the region’s flora, fauna and unique landscape up close.

Since 2025, the Lower Austria Eisenwurzen Nature Park has been offering a varied spring, summer and autumn programme. We are currently finalising the programme for 2026 – the new programme brochure will be available to download shortly.

Whether on a hike along hidden trails, observing native wildlife or taking part in creative nature projects – our nature guides bring nature to life and show just how valuable and diverse our environment is. Come along, experience nature with all your senses and be inspired by its beauty!

What can I experience in the nature park, and when?

In and around Hollenstein an der Ybbs and the surrounding communities of the Ybbs Valley, visitors can look forward to a diverse range of events that blend tradition, culture and nature.

Throughout the year, festivals, markets, sporting activities and regional folk events characterise the vibrant community life and invite you to join in the celebrations and enjoy the atmosphere.

There is also a particular focus on cultural offerings: theatre performances, concerts, as well as talks and workshops enrich the programme and create space for encounters and exchange. The library in the municipality of Hollenstein an der Ybbs is also an important meeting place for culture enthusiasts. Regular events such as story-telling sessions, readings and literary evenings make the library a vibrant place for socialising and learning.

The offering is complemented by a diverse range of programmes for children, families and adults – creating a colourful blend of tradition and modernity that makes the Ybbstal a particularly liveable and exciting region.
