The Nature Park is proud to present the Primary School (VS Holenstein) and the Middle School in Hollenstein and the Hohenlehen Agricultural College (LFS Hohenlehen) as certified Nature Park schools. The Hohenlehen Agricultural College (LFS Hohenlehen) and the Hollenstein Kindergarten (Landeskindergarten) will be included in the category Nature Park Kindergarten.
We attach great importance in creating awareness amongst our children, and the Nature Park schools and kindergarten ensure that this is put into practice.
Children of different ages are able to benefit from each other in many joint projects and are able to experience different viewpoints.
We have already been able to carry out and organise exciting projects and Nature Park Days (Naturparktage) for schools and thereby increase the appetite for more!
Nature Park - Schools, Kindergartens
The four-pillar approach of Austria's nature parks, which consists of protection, recreation, education and regional development, applies mainly to institutions such as the Nature Park Schools and Nature Park Kindergartens.
Nature Park Schools and Kindergartens rely on the cooperation between the Nature Park, school, kindergarten and local community. Effective co-operation can lead to a school being regarded as an educational centre within the Nature Park area and thereby attain a special status, also in terms of the local community's identification with the region.
The schools have to fulfil and implement certain criteria in order to be recognised as a nature park school.
These requirements include for instance that the school is located in a Nature Park Municipality and has a designated contact person in the school and in the Nature Park, and that a certain number of projects and Nature Park Days (Naturparktagen) are carried out.
Furthermore, the philosophy of the nature park must be applied in the educational institution throughout the entire school year
